Over the last month, a lot of newsprint and web space has been devoted to the matter of Shell Oil’s drilling equipment being brought to Seattle for servicing. It has been of special interest to all of us at NACM because the vacant pier where the Polar Pioneer is now moored is just about a mile from our new office.
When protesters rallied a couple of weeks ago, they formed in front of our building making it next to impossible for us to get to work! Free speech is a wonderful if not complicated right.
We also have an interest because a lot of NACM members are benefiting from work with the Shell project.
I had a terrific history teacher in high school. He was a true expert on Northwest history. A lot of our past is amazing; some of it is alarming. All of it, however, tells an important story of how intertwined the Puget Sound area is with Alaska (and Hawaii, too).
Our member, The Seattle Times, recently ran a story (click here) about the economic benefit enjoyed by Washington because of our Alaska relationship. It’s huge.
We can and should debate climate change. Yet, as the protesters in plastic kayaks learned, our world will still need petroleum in the future. Perhaps the ultimate goal should be to strike a balance. In the meantime, keep the work coming to our Alaska and Washington companies and members.
Thanks for being part of NACM Business Credit Services. Have a great start to your summer.
Best regards,
Jon Flora

This will surely be another great season of Seattle Seahawk football. But how does this relate to NACM and new members? It’s simple.
If you identify 3 new members, your name will be placed in a drawing for 2 tickets to a late season Seattle Seahawks game at CenturyLink Field. These are the hottest tickets in town and they could be yours! But wait! There’s more.
For each “warm lead” you submit that turns into a new member, we’ll give you a $25 gift card! If you submit 3 names of people you know who have an interest in NACM, you could make $75 and win Seahawks tickets!
Every member is eligible whether you live in Western Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, or wherever you happen to be. (No, we’re not springing for plane tickets but, if you win, it will be worth the trip.)
So, jump into the fray and start referring new members. Pete, Russell, Marshawn, Richard and the rest of the ‘Hawks will be glad to have you cheering your lungs out at CenturyLink. And, if they end up having an “off day”, there’s always shopping at Nordstrom.
Go Hawks…and NACM.[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”CRF Comes to Seattle in August. Special Rate for NACM affiliate members” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left” google_fonts=”font_family:Montserrat%3Aregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]
