After tending to wounds caused by the Great Recession, NACM is making a serious effort to grow again. Just like almost every kind of membership organization in the world, the downturn caused a lot of people to quit joining groups of any kind. Churches, golf clubs, service clubs and professional associations. Each has experienced significant member losses in recent years including us

Add to this the demographic shift happening in our country – baby boomers retiring and Millennials coming into the work force – and everything is changing. Quickly! There is no clear path on how to deal with all of this change, but we also can’t just sit back and hope things will go back to being the way they were. So, we’re getting busy and trying some things:

  • A new Membership Drive has been launched. And we already have two new members in the first two weeks.
  • We’ve just added a new staff member focused on new members and customers. This is the first new sales person we’ve added in quite a while and we’re quite excited about what he brings to the party.
  • New educational programs are being unveiled and a re-designed Western Region Credit Conference is coming this fall.

All of this is intended to enhance the value of membership in NACM. With more members and customers, we’re able to do more for you. If we all get invested in the growth of our association, the health of the credit profession benefits. And, that’s great for everyone.

Thanks for your time and support. Now, let’s GROW!

Best regards,

Jon Flora

Each discussion will be held at our office in Seattle, have a speaker addressing a topic many of you have asked for, and include a box lunch. Each program will be limited to the first 20 participants, run about 90 minutes and cost $30.

If you want to bring a non-member to introduce them to NACM, they’re welcome, too! The first quarter schedule is included in the calendar at right. We look forward to seeing you soon.[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”Welcome Ben Cox. NACM is pleased to introduce and welcome a new Account Executive to our sales team.   Ben Cox has joined us to help grow our member and customer base.  He comes to us with sales experience with Dun & Bradstreet, Caskadian & SureData Medical Systems.

A graduate of Washington State University, he is married to a veterinarian with whom he shares four rescue dogs.

Please welcome Ben when you get a chance to meet him.

On January 8, we launched our new Emerging Leaders Group and a good time was had by all.

Emerging Leaders are loosely defined as under 35 and new to or early in their credit careers. The purpose of the group is to help our younger members develop a network of relationships within their age group and career position. As many of long time members prepare for retirement, filling the pipeline for the future of our profession is critically important.

The group will meet quarterly for a mostly social gathering of the members’ design. If you are an emerging leader or have one working for you, this is a great opportunity to become included in the credit profession. For more information, contact Anna Fitzpatrick.
