POSITION PROFILE
The Carlisle Transportation Systems, Inc. Credit Associate is responsible for working with customers to collect on delinquent accounts and secure payment; to provide customer service regarding collection issues, monitor and maintain assigned accounts, and process account adjustments. Will also be responsible for researching payment processing, i.e. ACH, checks, credit cards refunds, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures
  • Responsible for providing excellent customer service when dealing with credit issues in a fast-paced credit department
  • Will process changes to customer accounts: payments, refunds, small balance write offs, customer reconciliations, credit memos and other adjustments
  • Will monitor assigned customer accounts with the goal of reducing payment delinquencies
  • Will enlist the aid of sales and department management when necessary to elevate the collection process
  • Communicate and follow up effectively with sales regarding customer accounts on a timely basis
  • Establish effective and cooperative working relationship with customers, team members and sales staff
  • Will process payments and payment information through third-party portals
  • Is responsible for new customer profile set-up as well as write-offs and A/R adjustments
  • Gather information to analyze portfolio trends and report findings to management
  • Consistently meet department goals and activity metrics
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • An associate’s degree in accounting or related discipline is preferred
  • A minimum of three years of previous experience in credit, collection in the transportation industry or in a business-to-business environment
  • Knowledge of accounting software systems, TruckMate preferred

  • Must be proficient in MS Office suite of applications including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work under pressure while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and work in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
  • Must be able to work independently, be self-motivated, be a problem solver and goal oriented, and also work in a team environment
  • Must be able to prioritize daily task and assignments
  • Must be able to adapt to change in a positive and constructive manner
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to work well with internal departments, vendors, and customers
  • Must have an enthusiastic and positive work attitude with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other office related devices. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
